EcoloChem Magyaróvár Kft. (ECM) is a family-owned company based in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary. We specialize in the production of an extensive range of products, including aluminum sulfates, polyaluminum chlorides, sodium aluminates, and blends with iron salts. Our products have diverse applications in areas such as wastewater and drinking water treatment, the paper industry, and various other industrial sectors.
With an annual production of approximately 60,000 tons, we are one of the largest producers of aluminum salts in Europe. Our production activities are spread across two separate plants on the same site, with five production halls and a total operational area of about 15,000 m². Our technologies are developed in-house and continuously adapted to market demands.
Our decades of experience and advanced technologies make us a reliable partner for our customers worldwide. We generate 95% of our revenue through exports, supplying markets in over 30 countries.
Company History
EcoloChem Magyaróvár was originally established on January 1, 2001, as an independent company under the name Motim Aluminiumszulfát Kft. Previously, it operated as an independent business unit within Motim Rt., specializing in the chemical processing of aluminum oxide. Since the early 1960s, the company has focused on producing aluminum sulfate. Between 1973 and 1978, capacities were built to enable the production of approximately 60,000 tons of solid aluminum sulfate annually.
In 2002, the current ownership took over the company and gradually transformed it into an independent family business. This acquisition brought significant technological advancements that greatly improved production and efficiency. Since the company’s products are predominantly used in environmental protection, particularly in water treatment, the company name was changed from Motim Aluminiumszulfát Kft. to EcoloChem Magyaróvár Kft. in November 2010 to better reflect this direction and the expanded product range.
In 2016, EcoloChem Magyaróvár acquired a similar-profile production company in Langenweißbach, Germany, which has since operated under the name EcoloChem GmbH. With a combined market presence and an annual production capacity of nearly 100,000 tons of final products, the two companies enhance their clients’ supply security, particularly in unforeseen events or cases of force majeure.

Eco-friendly Products and Production Processes
Most of our products are used directly in drinking water and wastewater treatment, significantly contributing to reducing environmental pollution and improving water quality. Additionally, we continuously optimize our production processes to minimize their environmental impact. These optimizations include both technological innovations and organizational measures aimed at increasing efficiency and conserving resources.
Recycling of Residual Materials:
We constantly develop technologies for recycling aluminum- and iron-based residual materials. These innovative solutions enable us to recover valuable resources while promoting a circular economy.
Reduction of Emissions:
By implementing gas scrubbers and recycling captured emission materials, we work to make our production processes closed-loop systems. These measures significantly contribute to reducing our emissions and help us further minimize our environmental impact.
